Mission Statement

The Christian Services Commission exists as a model and resource of Catholic Social Teaching, enabling the entire parish community to serve others by extending our time, talent, and treasure through parish led or sponsored activities.

We meet on the third Tuesday of the month in the Herrod Room (at the back of Church/Bixman Hall) from 6-7 PM. New members are always welcome….Join Us!

Upcoming Events

• AAA Pregnancy Resource Center Annual Banquet – September 25th at Laurel Manor. Register here if interested. Options are “Table Host”, “Table Sponsor”, or selecting “Guest” and selecting someone who is hosting a table or “I do not have a host”
• Mercy in Action Day – October 19th from 1-3 pm in the Activity Center.
• Michigan’s March For Life in Lansing - November 6th. St. Aidan will be a gathering site for bus pickup.
• ​​​Suicide Awareness Event – Monday November 17th at 6:00 pm in the Activity Center. Guest speakers are
  Professor Frank Rubino, Zach Stowe & Br. Fred Cabras.

Ongoing Programs at St. Aidan

• Non-perishable Food Collection – Drop off in basket in lobby area outside the parish office. ​
• Funeral Luncheon Worker – Assist with setup and cleanup of luncheon tables in the Activities Center.  Typical hours are from 9:30 am – 2pm, Mon – Fri. Contact Jeanne Babinski for details. ​

Ongoing Opportunities at Local or Partner Organizations ​​​

• St. Christine’s - Soup Kitchen: Serve meals every Tuesday from 12-2 at 22261 Fenkell location. Contact them at [email protected] or call 313-255-0312.​
• World Medical Relief - 21725 Melrose Ave., Southfield, MI 48075. Medical supply sorting. M-F from 9am - 3pm or Sat 9am - 12 pm.

• Crossroads of MI Sunday Meal Service - Two shifts available every week: 8am – 10:45 am and 10:30 am – 2:30 pm. 2424 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit.​​
• Oakland County Foster Closet  - Clothes sorting and/or donations. 24400 Sinacola Ct, Suite B, Farmington Hills.​

• Forgotten Harvest – Food packing or handing out. 15000 Eight Mile W, Oak Park.​
• Angel’s Place – Various types of volunteer opportunities. 29299 Franklin Rd., Southfield.
