• MISSION:  St. Aidan’s Prayer Shawl Ministry creates beautiful hand-knitted or crocheted shawls and lap blankets to provide comfort those facing illness, loss or difficult times in St. Aidan’s Parish and the Livonia community.

 

• MEETINGS:  The Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 2009 and meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of the month, at 7 pm in the Activity Center.  We meet for fellowship and prayer, and we welcome new members to knit or crochet. Patterns and yarn are available to help get you started.  For more information, please contact Diane Policelli, 248- 561-2552.

 

• WHAT WE CREATE:  We expanded our products beyond shawls and lap blankets, to include baby blankets, hats and scarves.

 

• WHO BENEFITS:  We give our items to parishioners, the Livonia community, AAA Pregnancy Center, Wee Care, St. Christine Parish, and local nursing and assisted living facilities.  We also provide a hat and scarf to each family participating in the Christmas gift program.

 

• ANNUAL PRAYER SHAWL DISPLAY:  We display our beautiful shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets, hats and scarves at our annual display held in the Fall in the Church Atrium.

 

• FINANCIAL DONATIONS:  Financial donations are gratefully received and proceeds are given to St. Vincent de Paul’s Camp Ozanam, World Youth Day, and the Easter food collection.

 

• YARN DONATIONS:  Donations are welcome and appreciated.
