Lent 2023
What We Leave Behind: Forging Our Legacy in Light of Christ

Picture
“The Mystery Man:” a Hyperrealistic Volumetric Artwork of the Shroud of Turin
The good that we do in this life is the raw material Christ will use to make a new heaven and a new earth. This Lent, discover how emulating Christ’s self-sacrifice, peace, witness and service can contribute to His project of cosmic regeneration.

February 27: Self-Sacrifice
The Shroud of Turin is an image that represents the Passion of Christ as noted in the Gospels. Examining the Shroud’s history and spiritual importance shows us how to imitate Christ in self-sacrificial love.

February 28: Peace
Christ reconciled us to God our Father and each other, establishing relations of peace. During sung meditations on this reconciling work of Christ, we will have the opportunity to celebrate that sacrament.

March 1: Witness
History has been changed by the Death and Resurrection of Christ. Explore the geographic locations of these events and how we have to pass on this story to a world in need of salvation.

March 2: Service
The servant is not greater than his Master. Discover the significance of the cloth that covered Christ’s head after His death (John 20:7), emblematic of the service we must extend to others, especially in their time of greatest need.

  • 6:30 - 7:30 PM in Church (2/27 Until 7:45)
